Project Abstract: This thesis aims to investigate current and future themed entertainment methodologies and implement new approaches into a proposed immersive hotel experience. This is accomplished through examinations of existing theme park precedents through the lens of the five senses, emotional design theory, and hospitality industry precedents, synthesis of successful and innovative methodologies, and design of a research-based, interactive hospitality experience. The design elements presented will constitute the components of a bluesky, concept design package, including space-planning, written storytelling, concept development, technology implementation, and guest experience. Design components for the hotel will be communicated through a written guest experience narrative, space documentation in plan, and renderings that convey materiality and user experience. The guest narrative for the hotel will be comprised of an original user journey based on the context of the Harry Potter franchise, excluding established characters, stories, and plot lines. The proposed hotel will serve as an opportunity for guests to live their childhood dreams of receiving their Hogwarts letters and creating their own story at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
